Modern Methods for Treating Aging Using Stem Cells

Modern Methods for Treating Aging Using Stem Cells

Another approach to using adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) to treat aging, using a "cell-free" therapeutic approach, is the use of extracellular vesicles (EVs). These have numerous advantages over stem cells, as well as their safety concerns. Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell extracellular vesicles (AD-MSCs-EVs) have been shown to combat photoaging. They were analyzed as subcutaneous injections in photoaged mouse models. The treatment resulted in a reduction in skin wrinkles and enhanced epidermal cell proliferation. Additionally, it reduced macrophage infiltration and the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), inhibiting MMP activation and collagen degradation.

General Introduction to Spinal Cord Injuries

General Introduction to Spinal Cord Injuries

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a severe traumatic injury affecting the central nervous system, significantly impacting health and quality of life. The most common type of spinal cord injury in humans is a spinal cord contusion, which typically results from traumatic events causing a dislocation or fracture of the spine.

Managing Type 2 Diabetes: From Lifestyle Modifications to Modern Medications

Managing Type 2 Diabetes: From Lifestyle Modifications to Modern Medications

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is closely linked to insulin resistance and impaired insulin production over time. With advancements in medical research, treatment for type 2 diabetes is no longer limited to lowering blood glucose levels. It now aims to reduce cardiovascular and renal complications and improve the patient's long-term quality of life.

How do environmental and lifestyle factors affect the rate of aging

How do environmental and lifestyle factors affect the rate of aging

Aging is a natural biological process that all cells in the body undergo. However, the rate at which signs of aging appear varies from person to person. While some people age slowly and maintain youthful skin and bodies, others suffer from premature signs of aging despite their young age. What is the reason? Recent studies indicate that the environment and lifestyle play a greater role than genetics in determining the rate at which a person ages and the appearance of age-related health deterioration symptoms.

From Insulin Injections to Modern Technologies: Is Type 1 Diabetes Management Easier in the Digital Age

The management of type 1 diabetes (T1DM) has witnessed remarkable progress in recent years thanks to advancements in medical and digital technologies. These technologies no longer focus solely on insulin replacement but also aim to mimic the body's natural glucose regulation, thus reducing the daily burden on patients.
